I tried, but just can't do a "shorter" today. Friedman's latest is infuriating because he's wrong and right, and for some reason that made it hard for me.
He hasn't given up his obsessive hatred of France (and now Germany). But if you can get passed that, he correctly observes
that the West is realigning itself as Europe coalesces into a power in its own right, asserting itself as it emerges from the shadow of 50 years of US domination. I've been saying things like this both here and at OSP
for a while. So ignore his usual snotty attitude and read some genuine insight from Tommy.
