Red Cross officials have denied U.S. reports that detained Myanmar pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi is on hunger strike.
Two officials of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) visited the detained Aung San Suu Kyi privately for an hour on Saturday and said she was well and not fasting.
She appears to be well. I really don't understand the confusion surrounding all of this--it's unclear how the US State Dept got their information, and what good it does to promulgate such unreliable information.
