Can You Get Good Wings Around Here?
Okay, so I made it to Buffalo. Not to taunt the travel gods, but I must say this was absolutely the smoothest trip I probably have ever had: beautiful weather, precisely on time flights, no worries with connections, my bags arrived, short wait at baggage claim, quick rental car acquisition, easy drive to the hotel. Small glitch with directions from my hotel in West Seneca to the facility where I'm teaching, but I figured it out--even navigated the unfamiliar one-way streets of downtown Buffalo with little trouble. I know I'm going to make up for all this karma-wise on the return trip.
Boy, this town is dead on Sunday when it's not football season. There looked to be some activity at the baseball park, but it wasn't baseball. The Bisons are in town starting Weds, and I was thinking maybe I'll catch a game. They're the AAA affiliate of my Cleveland Indians, so that would be cool.
More thoughtful (?) stuff to come...
