"Slumper Party" Over!
I was remiss in not reporting last week's good news that the Vermont Expos won a game:
Pack up the rollaways, tents and sleeping bags. “Slumper Party” is over.
The Vermont Expos snapped its 12-game losing streak with a 5-2 victory over Mahoning Valley in New York-Penn League action Saturday night at Centennial Field, ending the sleepovers in the Expos dugout for General Manager C.J. Knudsen and the Vermont front office staff.
Long-time readers of this blog will recall Expos Knudsen promised to sleep in the Expos' dugout until the team won a game. Not only did they win on the 5th, they shutout the Mahoning Valley Scrappers 7-0 the next night--they got clobbered on the 7th, so no 3-game win streak, but this a nice change. Maybe the Expos will inspire my softball team...
